The three-day research symposium will mark the 400th anniversary of Hutchinson’s birth with an exploration of her life, sources, and methods. Papers will address Hutchinson’s literary, philosophical, and artistic interests; the history and circulation of her Memoirs; her interactions with local and national politics; and her connections to contemporary women writers. The conference will include a public viewing of the manuscript of 'Memoirs of the Life of Colonel Hutchinson' at Nottingham Castle.
