The event is organised by the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (ifAM) at The University of Nottingham, in conjunction with EPSRC and Innovate UK. This will be the first time the UK's industrial and academic community is brought together on such a large scale to showcase the diverse range of cutting-edge collaborative UK research in the area of Industry 4.0 and provide an open forum for charting future directions in developing a national strategy in this rapidly evolving area.
Over the two days, critical insight into the global perspective will be gained through keynote addresses from the strategists detailing the future of manufacturing including: Germany's Industrie 4.0, the USA's Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Initiative and Japan's Industrial Value Chain Initiative. The even will close with a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities presented by Industry 4.0 and how we can best capitalise on these in the UK.
