About

The 2nd CIRP Conference on Surface Integrity (CSI) which was held in May 2014, acted as a forum for sharing knowledge between academic and industrial researchers with the engineers in the field of workpiece surface integrity and its consequences on the performance/behaviour of the parts.

To enable this exchange of knowledge the 2nd CIRP CSI focused on the following objectives:

  • Present trends in the surface integrity studies of strategic importance - Keynote addresses
  • Facilitate and share deep scientific understanding on the formation and behaviour of surface integrity after machining - Oral presentations on the conference sessions
  • Discussion on case studies related to workpiece surface integrity - Poster presentations
  • Awareness of the industrial needs/applications related to surface integrity - industry led presentations
