HSK Level 4 - Part B

This module is designed for students who have completed all previous levels of HSK courses or students with equivalent language skills. A speaking and listening vocabulary of 800 words is a prerequisite to starting the course.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • develop a speaking and listening vocabulary of approximately 900 words (vocabulary)
  • have discussions around topics including price, heathy, adjustment of mood, one’s viewpoints about success and happiness
  • understand the function and usage of more important Chinese language points
  • understand two-turn dialogues of approximately 100 Chinese characters or passages of approximately 100 Chinese characters (listening)
  • be able to conduct group speaking activities related to the above topics with language structures covered in the text (speaking)
  • read passages of approximately 180 characters related to the above topics (reading)
  • write short passages of approximately 80 characters (writing)
  • understand more Chinese culture related to the course content (culture)
