Free Microsoft Office for staff and students

All students and permanent staff across UK campuses can now download Microsoft Office completely free of charge for up to five devices.

The available suite is Office Professional 2013 which retails with Microsoft for approximately £390.00 and is available for students and staff to download for free as part of the University’s agreement with Microsoft.

Office Professional 2013 includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Outlook, Publisher and Access and can be downloaded on a range of devices including MacOSX, Android and iOS (iPad/iPhone).

To get Office Professional 2013 free of charge on up to five of your devices – here’s what to do:

Taught students (UG and PGT)

1. Log into your University email account
2. Select the gear symbol to find the software installation option
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to download Office Professional 2013 for free

Postgraduate Research students and permanent staff:

1. Log onto the Microsoft Software Workspace for details of how to access the dedicated site to install the software
