David Ross Sports Village update

DRSV

David Ross Sports Village welcomed its first gym-goers on Monday 3 October, with the 200-station fitness suite and three studios now all fully open for UoN sport and fitness members.

As well as working out on the latest fitness equipment supplied by industry leaders Life Fitness, members can book onto over a hundred weekly group exercise classes taking place at David Ross Sports Village as well as the Jubilee and Sutton Bonington sports centres.

Dan Tilley, Director of Sport, commented “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome our first members into the David Ross Sports Village during this first week of term and we hope they enjoy the incredible facilities on offer.”

“Our team and the building contractors are working hard to facilitate the opening of the remainder of the world-class facilities here at the David Ross Sports Village and it’s so exciting to see all the investment and hard work coming together. We thank our members for their patience during this transitional period and look forward to welcoming them for their first visit!”

When local Paralympian swimming stars Ollie Hund and Charlotte Henshaw paid a vist to the David Ross Sports Village, Ollie remarked "The sports village here is incredible; it's fantastic to have this kind of facility here in Nottingham We have a great history of sport in the city, so to have every sports area you can possibly think of here at the University is great!"

The rest of the Sports Village will continue to open on a phased schedule, with the sports hall, sports café and climbing wall set to be fully operational from Monday 10 October. Members are asked to check the UoN Sports web page and the UoN sport social media channels for updates.

If you haven’t purchased UoN sport and fitness membership yet, there’s still the chance to try out the fitness suites across all the University of Nottingham Sport facilities before you buy! Students and staff can download a free fitness suite pass for David Ross Sports Village, Jubilee or Sutton Bonington sports centres.

Tours of the new state-of-the-art David Ross Sports Village also continue this week; report to main reception upon arrival and one of the UoN Sport team will be delighted to show you round the incredible facilities on offer to students, staff and members of the public.
