Make the most of new features in George Green Library

George Green Library 714x250

The George Green Library extension is now almost complete, with most facilities already open for you to use.

What’s new?

There are boards at each entrance of the library indicating how busy the library is, and where space and help is available.

You can currently access:

  • the lending desk and help point on A Floor
  • Starbucks café on A Floor
  • the IT Smart Bar on B Floor, giving you face-to-face IT support
  • four language labs on B Floor
  • books on Floors B, C and E
  • journals on Floors C and E
  • study spaces on all floors
  • silent study space on Floors D and E
  • short stay PCs on Floors A, B, C, E and F
  • print, copy and scan machines on Floors A, B, C, E and F
  • library catalogues on Floors A, B, C and E
  • postgraduate and staff silent study space on Floor F

Library staff with green lanyards are roving around the building to help you wherever you are – so ask any questions you have.

When will the library be fully open?

From around mid-October, all facilities in the building should be available. This means that in addition to the above, you will be able to access:

  • A Floor – self-service laptop lockers, a computer training room and two integrated learning rooms
  • B Floor – four large group study rooms
  • C Floor – eight group study rooms of different sizes and an assistive technology room
  • E Floor – twenty individual study rooms
  • further silent study space on Floors C and E
