Health and hygiene company Reckitt Benckiser (RB) is challenging university students to solve future consumer health problems in a contest designed to highlight the importance of STEM subjects and careers in science. The winner of the RB Future of Science Challenge will receive a £5,000 contribution towards their university education plus a paid summer placement, including accommodation, with RB at its R&D Centre in Hull.
The challenge requires entrants to design a product that will meet a future healthcare need. Entries will need to include a commercial case for the product and a proposal of which RB brand it would best fit into. You will also need to submit a 500-word summary explaining why you love science.
Judges will be looking for entries that take consumer trends and their impacts into account – such as the increasing prevalence of mobile technology and apps with which to monitor and manage health.
The competition is open to first and second year students studying a science-based degree. To request an entry pack email futureofscience@rb.com by Tuesday 31 January 2017.
The final closing date for entry submissions is Friday 31 March 2017.
