A huge congratulations to all of our students who competed in this year’s British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) National Championships. Our team put in a dazzling performance and came home with a record medal haul.
Over the weekend of Friday 17 – Sunday 19 February over 300 UoN students made the journey up to Sheffield to compete in nine different sports, including badminton, judo and athletics.
Highlights from the event include:
gold, silver and bronze medals in badminton
silver and bronze medals in karate
bronze medals in judo
a gold medal in trampoline
a bronze medal in athletics
Alex Perry, Assistant Direct of Sport, says, “it's fantastic to see so many top performances from our student athletes […] I'd like to add a huge thank you to the coaches and UoN Sport staff who also travelled to Sheffield to support our competing athletes. All our students were incredibly well prepared and supported throughout the competition and this was critical to their performance success."
