Congratulations to student nurses and staff in the School of Health Sciences who are celebrating the largest number of nominations they have ever received in the prestigious Student Nursing Times Awards.

The awards are the ‘Oscars’ of the nursing education world and recognise excellence in nursing and midwifery teaching and learning across the UK. The School has received 20 finalist nominations across 12 different categories – double the number of any other university. This includes a record 12 nursing and midwifery students, including three – Isata Victoria Mandoh, Sabrina Carter and Ann Marie Wagstaff – who have been nominated in more than one category.

Finalist in the Student Midwife category, Amanda Antcliffe, said: “Being nominated is humbling. I have had some great mentors who have helped me get to this point. That help, together with support from lecturers and personal tutors, has helped me develop my drive and passion for supporting families into a career.”
