We’ve had fantastic attendance at the recent World Cup screenings and it’s certainly shown us that the Portland outdoor screen and the Djanogoly Terrace has great potential for future screenings and events. Thanks to everyone who attended.
Due to the limited resources this weekend we will not be showing the England vs Sweden game on Saturday 7 July on the Portland outdoor screen. The University and the Students’ Union have reviewed the event management requirements to host this popular game and unfortunately we do not have sufficient resources to cover the event responsibly.
We’re disappointed we can’t host Saturday’s game and with this in mind we have committed to host the screening of both the World Cup semi-finals next Tuesday 10 July and Wednesday 11 July, whether England get through to the semi-finals or not. A further decision will be made on the screening of the Finals on Sunday 15 July.
The Uruguay vs France game happening today at 3pm will be shown on the Portland outdoor screen, with no sound.
If you are interested in watching the England game on Saturday there are many other locations in Nottingham, including the venue at Nottingham Castle.
