Information Services have developed a new virtual desktop so that you can access University applications over the Internet.
Windows Virtual Desktop provides access to Microsoft 365, OneDrive, the University network and file storage, as well as standard UoN applications. It offers a similar experience to using a PC in one of our campus computer rooms.
Please only use the virtual desktop when you require access to the resources mentioned above. Help us make sure the University bandwidth is not overloaded by disconnecting for all non-study related activity – especially things like streaming video and video conferencing.
Visit Workspace (log in with your University username/password) for guidelines on how to install and set-up Windows Virtual Desktop.
If you experience any issues, please check the FAQs.
Engineering students
A separate virtual desktop has been developed specifically for students in the Faculty of Engineering. The Engineering Desktop features everything mentioned above, as well as specialised software usually available in engineering computer rooms.
Please bear in mind the above advice about only using the Engineering Desktop for University work.
Visit Workspace (log in with your University username/password) for guidelines on how to install and set-up the Engineering Desktop.
