New sessions are now open for booking.
The university's counselling service provides a year-round service of groups, workshops, self-help resources and individual counselling. Support is free and confidential, provided by professionally qualified counsellors who can offer help with personal and psychological problems.
Autumn term workshop programme
Workshop sessions will have input from the counsellor running it, as well as reflective exercises to allow discussion and sharing of experiences from students attending. They are often focused on finding practical ways of managing specific issues.
How to sign up
Workshop sessions do not require a referral. If you would like to attend a session, please sign up via the above links.
The remaining services require a referral and so if you are a new student or have not used the service for four months, you will need to meet with a member of staff from one of the following teams:
- Support & Wellbeing
- ResX
- Disability Support
- Report and Support
These can all be accessed through MyWellbeing in the StudentLife Hub.
Please note, if you complete a registration form without first being referred or are referred by someone not from one of the above teams, you will be redirected to meet with one of the above, so that a counselling referral can be properly completed.
This does not apply to those already signed up to the service. Faculty of Medicine and Health Science students on placement should follow their specific process.
