Changes inspired by you - PGT students

Monday, 24 February 2025
Find out what changes have been made as a result of previous survey feedback.

The following changes have been made as a result of your feedback:

  • We've launched a series of PGT social events during Welcome, along with the Summer Celebration event in August each year, where you can come and enjoy a drink with each other to celebrate all of your achievements over the year, whether you've finished or have time left.
  • We've updated the Quality Manual with regulation and guidance to support a minimum expected level of supervision for students completing a research project, otherwise known as a Masters Project, during the summer.
  • Faculties have introduced more social events, such as 'Chatty Wednesday' in Engineering, which takes place once a month and is an opportunity for PGT students to socialise over coffee, board games or lunch. Teams from across the university also come along to promote their services, including Careers and Employability, Libraries, and more.
  • The Graduation team are working to arrange inter-ceremonies, so postgraduate students can have their degrees conferred outside of the major graduation ceremonies in July and December. This allows more flexibility for postgraduate students who need proof of your education to secure a job.
  • A cultural lounge is being created at Jubilee Campus - a social space for international students to celebrate cultures from around the world. Further details will be confirmed soon.
