The Students' Union and University are piloting a new Course Rep recruitment process for the 2020/21 academic year.
This will mean that Reps will no longer be chosen through elections but those interested can volunteer themselves.
This change was driven by a strong drive to facilitate an authentic and inclusive student voice in addition to feedback from previous reps and difficulties filling key positions across the University.
Course Reps are a vital part of the student voice and make a real difference to the academic experience through gathering peer feedback, attending key meetings and campaigning for positive change.
There will now be no limit on the number of reps a course can have, and so all students who register and complete training will be able to take part.
This programme is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, regardless of course or level of study. Full training will be provided in addition to support from schools and the Students’ Union throughout the year.
Applications are open from Monday 21 September to Friday 2 October. To apply, please complete the application form.
Following your application, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to the training.
In addition to Course Rep opportunities, there are also spaces for those interested in becoming either Education or Faculty Reps. Further information will be released soon.
