Enthusiastic students wanted to join the author group for a student-led COP26 Universities Network briefing.
Students are being invited to put themselves forward for the opportunity to work on the Universities Network Briefing for The UN climate Change Conference (COP26). The briefing will look at the long-term implications of net zero policymaking in the UK. The full proposal, which you can find here, highlights some key focus areas: the policymaking process, energy systems, carbon removal, biodiversity and ecosystems, and international policy leadership.
Whilst there are no strict qualification requirements below is a series of bullet points of qualities the team are looking for in applicants.
- knowledge and interest in climate change politics/policy, renewable energy or environmental issues is essential.
- Enrolment on a postgraduate course is desirable,
- experience in research or policy paper writing (concise and solution-focused) is desirable
Successful applicants should be ready to spend around three hours a week on it between now and September, in collaboration with the rest of the group. If you would like to apply to join the author group, please fill out this form by 7th July. For more information or any questions or queries, contact Owen Tutt.
