Donate unwanted items to the British Heart Foundation.
If you’re heading home for Easter, it’s the perfect time to have a clear out and donate unwanted items to charity.
The university’s Pack for Good campaign supports the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and gives you the opportunity to donate unwanted items such as clothes, electricals, books and furniture to collection banks on campus and in the local community.
Each year the university joins forces with Nottingham City Council and Nottingham Trent University to install British Heart Foundation donation banks around the city and university campuses.
Not only does this help to divert waste from landfill but money raised from the sale of these items goes on to support the lifesaving research and work of the BHF.
Where are on-campus collection banks located?
The university has teamed up with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to provide donation points in each hall of residence on campus. There will also be large street banks outside Ancaster, Sherwood and Melton halls for larger donations.
There is a donation bank at Sutton Bonington Campus by the James Cameron-Gifford library.
Where can I find off-campus donation points?
Donation banks have been placed in the local area. See the below map for more information on donation points.
Why take part?
During the 2022/23 academic year, the university’s on-campus banks collected 3,916 bags of donations - equivalent to 31.3 tonnes! The items sold raised £54,824 for BHF charity. This was a record year for donations, a 51.5% increase on the previous record from 2017.
