Organisers will be going door-to-door in Lenton collecting spare food to donate to FareShare Nottingham, helping reduce food waste and giving you an easy way to clean out your cupboards before the winter break.

To take part, just put your spare food in a bag ready to hand over to volunteers on Wednesday 14 December between 2 and 5pm. Alternatively, you can leave the bag of donations on your doorstep to be collected, or even drop off at a collection bank in any Tesco store.

FareShare are looking for the following donations:

• Tinned meat or fish
• Baked beans 
• Tinned pasta
• Tinned fruit and veg
• Pasta, rice, lentils
• Cooking sauces
• Cereal bars/biscuits
• UHT milk
• Fruit juice
• Tea/coffee
