Over the last year, University of Nottingham Libraries have been working hard to provide students with the best possible access to resources, including introducing our scanning for personal-use and Click and Collect services, adding a wide range of ebooks to our collections and working closely with academic staff to make digital versions of recommend reading available, where possible.

Thanks to funding from the University’s Covid Crisis Fund, Libraries will be providing a free postal loans service for eligible students until the end of the summer term in June (dependent on demand).

About postal loans

The service will provide access to physical items available in our collections to current students who meet any of the following eligibility criteria:

• Currently living outside the local area
• Eligible for Enhanced Library Support
• Current unable to visit the library in person (eg due to shielding or self-isolation)

If you are unsure about your eligibility, please contact Library staff.

There is no charge for this service and Libraries will cover the cost of postage. You will be able to request up to three books at a time.

Books out on postal loan will automatically renew every day in the same way as standard loans. You may be asked to return your loans if they are requested by another user. If you are unable to return books to the library in person, please contact Library staff for advice.

How to request a postal loan

To place a request, complete the form on the Libraries website providing full details of your library account, the titles and your postal address.
