The Race Equality Charter focus groups are your opportunity to share your thoughts on race equality at the University of Nottingham, and to contribute to a plan for improving the experience of all students.
In May 2019 we launched the Race Equality Charter Survey, the University’s largest-ever survey into racial equality on campus. The survey gave respondents the chance to share their experiences on race equality at the University and to inform an action plan to better support BAME staff and students.
We are now launching the Race Equality Charter focus groups, an opportunity for you to expand upon the key themes raised in the survey, and to provide qualitative feedback on your personal experiences. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss the measures we might take to improve the experiences of all BAME students at the University.
The focus groups will be taking place from Friday 29 November onwards. They are as follows:
- Friday 29 November, 11am-12.30pm: University Park Campus
- Monday 2 December, 11am-12.30pm: QMC
- Wednesday 4 December, 2-3030pm: QMC
- Thursday 5 December, 2-3.30pm: University Park Campus
- Sunday 8 December, 11am-12.30pm: Jubilee Campus
The format of these focus groups will be an informal discussion with interactive elements. This will be a safe space for you to discuss your experiences and how we can improve the diversity and sense of belonging at the University. Join us for an informal discussion – refreshments will be available.
If you are interested in attending a focus group, please complete this form to indicate which session(s) you are able to attend. Please note that the content at each of the focus groups will be the same, so you only need to attend one session. We will then get back to you to confirm your place at your preferred group, along with the precise location.
