A four-minute micro-course on consent will be texted to all first-year students as part of a new pilot exploring how to help students build better relationships.
Navigating new friendships and building relationships – some of which will become life-long – is an integral part of your university experience. It’s important that these relationships are healthy and respectful from the start.
To help you do this, we’re piloting a new series of micro-learning courses to give you the tools to build better relationships. The first of these will cover consent – particularly consent in sexual relationships.
How you access the course
We’ll send all first-year students two texts from UoN Micro over two consecutive days. The text will contain a link to the bite-sized course, which will take around four minutes to complete on your phone. You’ll receive the first text on Tuesday 1 November followed by a second when you’ve completed the first session. Please complete the course in full.
This and the subsequent micro-learning courses – on hate crime and misogyny and how to recognise and call out poor behaviour – are part of a pilot project to explore how we can help our community understand that these important issues are everyone’s responsibility. We will share opportunities to feed back on the delivery, content and tone of the courses – please take the opportunity to do this. It will help us assess the current content and refine future courses.
