Summer school for mature students

Wednesday, 17 May 2023
University of Nottingham Libraries and the University Wellbeing Team are hosting a programme of free activities for mature students.

This summer school is designed for mature students aged 21 and over as an opportunity to engage in additional activities relating to improving academic skills, health, wellbeing, creativity and socialising.

The programme takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am-12noon and 1-2.30pm from Monday 26 June to Thursday 13 July.

You are encouraged to attend as much of the summer school as possible, however it is possible to book onto individual morning or afternoon sessions.

There will be three focuses:

  • Academic skills - time management, literature searching, critical thinking, argumentation, structuring essays and referencing
  • Wellbeing workshops – self-care, confidence, resilience and community
  • Social activities and trips - trips to Nottingham Contemporary, The Caves and Wollaton Park. Photography, spoken word, and fiction writing workshops plus African drumming and a picnic by the lake.
