Support for exams and assessments from Libraries

Tuesday, 07 January 2025
It’s a busy time of year but Libraries are here to help you study well and achieve your goals.

We have a range of services that will be particularly useful whilst revising over the break, including:

  • FREE study planners to help you plan your revision time – don’t forget to include time for breaks and rest. Download a planner online or pick up a copy from our libraries.
  • Extended opening hours: Three of our libraries are open 24-hours from 13 January. Don’t forget to bring your University Card or MyNottingham app for access after 10pm.
  • Study space: Our libraries can get busy during assessment periods. We recommend booking your space in advance using Click and Study. Book a variety of spaces from group rooms and silent spaces to accessible desks and assistive technology rooms. Browse the listings to find the right space for you.
  • Study with us online: Join our weekly online study session for up to two hours of focused study alongside other students. We’ll use the pomodoro method to break down the session into 25-minute chunks with plenty of breaks.
  • Academic skills support: You can explore studying effectively resources online on topics such as revision techniques, time management and academic writing or request a one-to-one for guidance from a member of our expert team. Why not check out our team’s useful revision tips too?
  • Moodle for study success: Do you have questions about using Moodle? Drop in to our daily online sessions anytime from 1.30 - 2.30pm to get help.
  • Access library resources: Visit NUsearch to find the print and digital resources you need for your studies. Place a request online to get materials sent to your preferred library. Can’t find the resource you need in our collections? Find out more about our More Books and Interlibrary loans services.
  • Take a break with us – It’s really important to take regular breaks when you’re studying. Pop by our library games zones, help out with the shared puzzle, leave a positive message for other students on our boards or just take a break with a friend.
  • Free hot drinks between 13 – 23 January: Pop by our Refuel stalls to take a break and pick up a free hot drink

Do you have any questions about using libraries? We're here to help – talk to us in-person or contact us via email, phone, social media or live chat.
