UON ranked seventh for work experience

Thursday, 13 February 2025

The university has been ranked seventh in the country at the RateMyPlacement Awards, which recognise universities for the support offered helping students gain work experience and placements.

The awards collate student ratings and reviews to create a ranking. The university has risen five places from 2024 and is third in the Russell Group.

Placements in various forms are a core part of the Nottingham student experience. The university has developed excellent links with industry, enhancing our ability to offer a wide range of opportunities through recruitment fairs, employer-led events, the MyCareer jobs board and more.

Director of Careers and Employability Pauline Maden added: “It is fantastic to be recognised as a leading university for our work experience provision. Through growth of our placement, internship and experiential learning initiatives we have a compelling offer that allows students to access opportunities that are right for them, at the right time.

“These experiences are hugely beneficial for our students in terms of attainment, progression and graduate outcomes and we will continue to grow and refine our offer to meet ever-increasing demand.”
