Cora-laine Moynihan, a University of Nottingham student has achieved the Diana Legacy award for her work in supporting victims of sexual abuse.
Cora-Laine has given her time to over 30 survivors between the ages of 12-18 through her work with the charity safeline where she works as a peer mentor offering drama workshops and one to one support.
Cora-Laine studies English and Creative Writing here at the University and has ambitions of becoming an author after completing her studies. Although she says that she will never stop supporting those who are victims of sexual abuse.
It is such an honour. Safeline had nominated me and I did not expect to receive anything. I was completely speechless.
The Diana Legacy award is a way of recognising exceptional young people who go above and beyond in acts of kindness, compassion and bravery. The award aims to highlight and recognise the next generation of change makers. Each year around 20 people from across the world receive the award and this year marks the 20 year anniversary of the charity behind it.
On behalf of the University of Nottingham we would like to offer congratulations to Cora-Laine and all those who received the award this year.
