On Tuesday 6 September we will be updating the eduroam wireless security certificates to maintain a secure network.
Following the update, all existing eduroam users will see a warning on each of their devices next time they connect to eduroam. The warning will state that your connection “may not be secure”. You may be prompted to log in to eduroam again with your university email and password. You will need to:
- Accept the new certificate when prompted
- Failing that, 'forget' the eduroam wireless network and re-connect – instructions on how to connect can be found on the IT Services website
University managed devices should automatically update if they are connected to the Virtual Private Network (VPN) whilst off-campus. Some other devices may need to start the update manually. For information on how to do this visit the IT Service page.
After the update, you may experience a security or certificate warning when first connecting to eduroam. To ensure your safety, check that the certificate you are presented with matches the following information:
