Will you be part of this year’s record-breaking Movember attempt at UoN to raise money for men’s health?
In 2020 the University of Nottingham raised £116,000 for men’s mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. This year your UoN Movember ambassadors are challenging you to beat that record and raise a whopping £150,000.
Over the past three years our Movember fundraising activity (totalling over £200,000) has placed us second behind Exeter on the Movember University fundraising leader board. We’re looking to break that habit.
How can I get involved?
The biggest thing you can do is organise your own fundraising activity – either with your friends, your sports club or society, within your accommodation or on your course.
You could:
- Grow a moustache
- Complete a physical challenge (run 60km throughout Movember, cycle 150km or complete 1,345 metres – the height of Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain – of routes on the climbing wall)
- Host an event – musical, theatrical, gaming – in aid of Movember
- Do something completely original
How ever you choose to fundraise, make sure you join the University of Nottingham Challenge on the Movember website to ensure that your funds contribute to the university’s total.
Join the challenge
If you don’t fancy organising your own fundraising activity you could always get involved in one of our events. Everyone who buys tickets for the Men and Women’s Hockey Headliner event on Wednesday 9 November will have the opportunity to make a donation.
Karnival are also recruiting reps to lead on fundraising and events in halls. If you think you could lead your hall to the top of the fundraising leader board, fill out the expression of interest form. You'll earn valuable skills and experience for your CV
Who can get involved?
Movember is for everyone. You don’t have to be able to grow a moustache!
Making a donation
All donations to Movember are appreciated but if you want your donation to count towards the University of Nottingham total, make sure you donate to a University of Nottingham member or team on the Movember website. You can do this by searching ‘University of Nottingham’ when you make your donation.
Good luck with your fundraising activities! We’ll be sharing progress updates across our channels throughout Movember.
