As part of 2020’s sustainability week a new Zero Waste shop has been opened in the Portland building on University Park.
Portland Zero, the new shop, sells a wide range of produce from dried herbs and cereals, to grains, oats, pastas and even cleaning products and they’ll be adding oils and vinegars very soon. All the products are sold by weight, making some of the products considerably cheaper than their plastic shrouded alternatives. But don’t worry if you forget your jars and Tupperware, as suitable containers are also purchasable to make your shopping even easier in the future.
The shop celebrated its opening (pictured right) on Monday 2 March this year and students are encouraged to provide feedback on its range of products to make Portland Zero even more useful in the future.
You can visit Portland Zero in room B62 in the Portland Building between Monday – Friday, 10am to 5pm.
