Description

Do you love history and want to make it come alive for young people?

Join us if you are a University of Nottingham student considering training to be a history teacher

Come and meet the History PGCE Initial Teacher Education Admissions Tutor, Vic Crooks, to find out how to apply for a teacher training course at the University.

Start yourself on the path to developing exciting historical enquiry-led learning, through which children encounter history in meaningful and engaging ways, that makes a difference to their understanding of the world.

Why teacher training at Nottingham?

  • Over 95% of our teacher training graduates secure employment as teachers
  • The programmes inspected during our last visit from Ofsted were rated 'Outstanding' - read the full report
  • You will be taught by academics who are all experienced teachers and who are recognised nationally and internationally for their work
  • We work in partnership with excellent schools across the East Midlands in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, enabling you to gain a broad experience of different educational settings

This lunch-time session will explain the different routes into teaching history at secondary level offered by The University of Nottingham, the course structure, content and the support you will receive whilst training and as a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT).
