On Friday 8 March, colleagues from our Centre for Research in Educational Leadership and Management, Professor Kay Fuller, Professor Kathleen Pithouse-Morgan and Dr Phil Taylor contributed to an online leadership summit held by the Transform Trust, which already has strong partnership links with the School of Education.
The summit was attended by educational leaders from across the Transform Trust, its 19 schools and partner organisations, with a focus on The Power of Story – Understanding Ourselves and Understanding Others – A Leadership Perspective.
Other contributors to the event included John Edwards (Department for Education), Rebecca Meredith CBE and Dame Susan Jowett (DBE).
Our colleagues contributed ideas from their research, teaching and practice about the use of narrative, photos and critical reflection to support professional and leadership development. This led to some helpful reflection about their work and practice, focusing their thinking and story-making and providing connections with the definitions of leadership shared by the organisers and contributors to the event and its participants.
The summit leads to the potential for further collaboration, research, and writing opportunities with the Transform Trust.
