How You Can Help Us
Are you, your group or your organisation a Stakeholder?
During the course of the evaluation we are particularly interested in finding out about the extent to which the new qualifications meet students’ needs, and provide appropriate pathways and progression opportunities. We are investigating also the impact of the new assessments, and the manageability of implementation.
It is of great importance that a wide range of perspectives informs the work. We are approaching individuals, organisations, schools and colleges whose involvement is significant to the success of the evaluation. We are conducting case studies and surveys of students, teachers, schools and colleges, and we are working closely with the awarding bodies.
We would like to ensure that anyone who has a vested interest in mathematics qualifications are also informed and have the opportunity to contribute to the work. Unfortunately it will not be possible to canvass views from all interested groups, and so we propose to take soundings opportunistically through conferences, meetings and events during which mathematics is considered.
We would therefore be grateful if you would be prepared to:
1. Bring our work to the attention of your committee secretariat
for noting at relevant meetings;
2. Include us on your mailing list for events in the next three years
at which mathematics pathways and progression are relevant concerns;
3. Consider inviting the project team to make brief presentations
at meetings and discussions with the aim of eliciting feedback regarding
the new qualification structure.
All data collected is confidential to the project team. Under the
terms of the contract with the QCA, we are not permitted to publish
any findings without prior permission.
