The Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre (UTC) in Manufacturing and On-Wing Technology has expertise in all aspects of aerospace manufacture. With particular interest in fixturing, mechatronics, on-wing inspection and robotic systems for in-situ repair, the UTC also excels in non-conventional machining processes - especially in difficult to cut materials - and in-process sensing and monitoring technologies.

The University of Nottingham Energy Institute (UoNEI) addresses key societal challenges of energy generation and management, transport and mobility, and communities and the built environment. Uniting expertise across the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Social Science - together with external stakeholders - the UoNEI aims to develop solutions for the transition to green and sustainable energy. 

The Zero Carbon Innovation Centre (ZCIC) accelerates the translation of zero carbon research into high-impact commercial and policy solutions in partnership with industry and government. Targeting the most carbon-intensive industries such as heavy transport and manufacturing the ZCIC focuses on electrical machine manufacturing, hydrogen propulsion systems, and digital twinning.
