The School is pleased to announce considerable student success in this year’s TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards. Two English students, Lily Glasson and Lois Wentworth made the short list for the award this year.
Lily Glasson applied for the Future Business Leader category, whilst Lois Wentworth applied for the Female Undergraduate of the Year category. Lois has also been fortunate to gain a 10 week placement at Rolls Royce as a result of her application.
Lily mentioned that the placements she had undertaken with English in working with Mouthy Poets and the Marketing, Communications and Recruitment (MCR) team at The University of Nottingham had been “extremely helpful” in her application and future career choices. Similarly, Lois mentioned that “all the extra curricula things I did with the School of English” such as her marketing placement and her volunteer work with the Literacy Support Project helped to qualify her for the award’s short list.
Both Lois and Lily were invited to the awards ceremony hosted by Fiona Bruce.
We would like to congratulate both students and wish them every success in the future.
