The School will be holding a Careers Day on
Friday, 5 February 2010 in the Senate Chamber, Trent Building for all students. The Careers Day is a perfect opportunity to begin thinking about how to turn your degree into a career. This year we have talks from three graduates and three postgraduates:
1:45 pm: Career paths after Nottingham Jim Buckle, Chief Financial Officer of lovefilm.com, will talk about his career since graduating from Nottingham. Come along and explore the possibilities open to you. There will be refreshments and the opportunity to chat after the talk.
3:00 pm: A Career in Law
A talk on Law Conversion, and achieving a career in law, from Rosie Burbidge (Olswang LLP) and Alfie Liu, graduates from the School of English Studies. More refreshments, more chatting!
4:00 pm: Doing a Ph.D
Malte Ringer, Daniel Weston and Paul Whickman on how to apply, how to get funding, and what it’s like to be a doctoral student.
All are welcome. Please just come to the session(s) that interests you.
Coffee, tea and cakes will be available throughout the afternoon.
