Applications are invited for a Lectureship in English

The School of English is seeking to appoint a lecturer to contribute to its international research and teaching profile in the fields of language and linguistics or literature from 1500 to the present. Candidates with specialisms in either Contemporary World Anglophone/postcolonial literatures or in Reading and Literacy are welcomed.

The successful candidate will have a PhD, or equivalent in English or Language and Linguistics and a strong emerging track record in publishing. The candidate should have Higher Education teaching experience, preferably at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  The person appointed will undertake specific teaching and research in the School of English and contribute more widely to the School’s thriving outreach and public engagement profile and to teaching and research activities on the university’s international campuses.

This full time, permanent post available from 1 September 2012

Selection Process 
Long-listed candidates will be asked to provide items of research for consideration by the School. The interview process will include a research and teaching-based presentation and a formal interview.
