These include: Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Funding for Masters Students and Research Students The Arts and Humanities Research Council funds HEU tuition fees and a full annual stipend per annum. Postgraduate Teaching Fellowships for PhD students The School will be awarding two Postgraduate Teaching Fellowships from September 2012. Applications are invited from potential doctoral students who wish to work in any area of English in which we can offer supervision. The Postgraduate Teaching Scholarships cover the cost of postgraduate HEU tuition fees for up to three years, and an annual maintenance grant (£13,600 approx per annum). Closing date for applications: 12 March 2012. Postgraduate Research Scholarships for Masters students In 2012, the School of English Studies will be offering two Postgraduate Research Scholarships. The scholarships are the equivalent of HEU full tuition fee scholarships plus an annual stipend of £7,000. The successful scholarship holders will be attached to a research project and/or centre in the School of English and will be required to undertake research activities for up to one day per week.
