Before I came to Nottingham, I taught and convened undergraduate modules in English Literature at the University of Leicester and De Montfort University. In 2023, I became an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and will be submitting my application to become a Fellow in 2025.

Current Research

I have interdisciplinary research interests in the literature and material cultures of the 'long' eighteenth century, particularly focusing on women writers, book history, and literary sociability. Digital editing tools and approaches are related interests in my work on print and manuscript letters. My current research explores Charlotte Lennox's mid-century translations of Shakespearean sources by drawing on translation studies as well as theatre history to explore questions about ideas of authorship, canonicity, collaborative exchanges, and intertextuality.

I am also finalising a revised manuscript of my thesis for publication as a monograph on women writers and novel criticism between 1740 and 1810, and research for my forthcoming book has been funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Huntington Library, San Marino.
