'Conceptualising Europe' - An Interdisciplinary Workshop

Colleagues are invited to a one-day interdisciplinary workshop on the theme of “Conceptualising Europe”. The workshop is designed to create an environment where Postgraduate Research students from the Universities of Nottingham, Warwick and Birmingham will come together to discuss the political, social, economic, geographical, historical and psychological conceptions of Europe and what it means to be European.

The workshop will consist of several sessions of round-table presentations followed by discussion,with the aim of inviting constructive insights from all participants based on their different disciplinary experiences. Importantly, the workshop is designed to have an informal atmosphere that will create a relaxed environment enabling the exchange of knowledge and research methods cutting across disciplines.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Midlands Graduate School, we are able to offer the workshop free of charge to all participants. In addition, we will be offering catering and refreshments throughout the day, as well as a complimentary dinner on the evening of the event. Participants coming from outside of Nottingham will also be offered travel bursaries.
