GNSS PhD Summit 2013
The GENIUS PhD Summit offered a small group of students a unique chance to discuss their ideas and
research, to develop essential skills, and to network in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
The event was hosted by GENIUS partner Universität der Bundeswehr München, who have previously held similar events as part of their contribution to the G-TRAIN project - the predecessor to GENIUS.
Following feedback from previous summits the 2013 Summit was extended from one day, to two days. The extra time gave students greater opportunity to discuss their work, and get feedback from their peers and faculty members.
The Summit attracted students from Croatia, Italy, Poland and the UK. Faculty members were drawn from: Politecnico
di Torino, ENAC, Universität der Bundeswehr München, and the University
of Rijeka.
An important part of the Summit were the two lectures by research & writing coach, Dr. Natalie Struve: Making the most of it - managing your thesis project from beginning to
completion, and Use that tool - writing as a means to guide your thinking, solve your
problems, and propel your research.
