Congratulations

Congratulations to:

  • Ian Conway, who has been shortlisted for a Papin prize lifetime achievement award, ‘The Professor Lord Bhattacharyya Lifetime Achievement Award - An award to recognise continued excellence and/or significant achievements across an individual's technical career’.
  • Georgia White (UG student), who has been awarded the RGS-IBG Carceral Geographies Working Group's inaugural Undergraduate Dissertation Prize for her dissertation entitled, "'There's a particular thing about how the pregnancy ought to be and how it is for some women': The experience of pregnancy for refugees and asylum-seekers in the UK". The selection panel was impressed with the "nuanced methodological approach and theoretical sophistication". The supervisor was Thom Davies.
  • Georgia Silva, a 2020 UG graduate, who has been awarded the first prize by the RGS-IBG Gender and Feminist Geographies Research Group. The title of the dissertation was ‘Publication to Protests: A Geographical Exploration of Power and Resistance in The Handmaid’s Tale’, and the supervisor was Cordelia Freeman.
