School of Geography a top 10 department for research publications and environment

The School of Geography has been ranked in the top 10 University Geography Departments in the UK, for its research outputs (ie publications) and the quality of its research environment, in a major national assessment of university research.

The school is placed 8th when ranked by Grade Point Average (GPA) for both research indicators according to the results of the REF2021 (Research Excellence Framework), the national assessment of UK university research. The assessment also identified 100% of the School of Geography’s research publications to be of international quality.
