2017 Student Nursing Times Awards - the nominations are in

SNTA17-finalist

We are absolutely delighted to announce that the school has been shortlisted across 12 different categories in the 2017 Student Nursing Times Awards - the most shortlisted entries the school has ever had! Indeed The University of Nottingham has 20 nominations on the various shortlists which represents 11.5% of the total shortlisted nominations and is double the number of shortlisted nominations of any other University.

The shortlisted nominations celebrate the achievements of individual students, individual staff, a joint student and staff teaching innovation, and the quality of the teaching provision offered by the school. Shortlisted nominations celebrate the achievements in nursing and midwifery at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In short, the school is being recognised by achievements across the board.

Specifically Dr Charley Barker, lecturer in mental health, has been shortlisted for Educator of the Year after being nominated by her students.

As for our fabulous students, we have had 12 students nominated for awards in 8 different categories! Not only that, Isata Victoria Mandoh, Sabrina Carter and Ann Marie Wagstaff have all been nominated in more than one category. Ann has also been working with Adam Street, Hannah Blackwell and Russell-Harrison-Paul to develop peer-led clinical skills which has been shortlisted in the Teaching Innovation of the Year category.

Professor Joanne Lymn, Dean and Head of School, said: "I am so proud of the achievements of students and staff that are being recognised by these awards. I think this shows that the school really is a place which nurtures and develops excellence at all levels. The future of nursing and midwifery is alive and well."

Congratulations to all on this amazing achievement, and best of luck for the awards ceremony in April!
