Dr Linda East awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Medal

Congratulations to Dr Linda East, who was one of the Vice-Chancellor's Medal winners for 2016.

Linda was awarded this prestigious prize for establishing a UK charity to support Dream Big Ghana, a small NGO which works to promote sanitation, education and health in the Volta Region of Ghana.

Her enthusiasm has inspired a number of initiatives in collaboration with the University, including establishing a healthcare electives programme and supporting joint projects between nursing and engineering students. Linda has also organised the School of Health Sciences team in the Robin Hood Half Marathon, to raise money for a compost toilet, which has made a real difference to local communities in Ghana.
