Kirstie Coolin awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy

We are pleased to share that Kirstie Coolin, E-Learning Media Manager, was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) last week!

The HEA is the national body focussing on improving teaching quality. At their heart is the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) and their professional recognition programme.

According to the HEA, the Senior Fellow of the HEA is a recognition of a “proven, sustained track record in Higher Education teaching and management”. For Kirstie, it is a reflection of 10 years of experience working with University colleagues as well as external partners developing and leading research and development projects, mainly in the areas of e-learning but also in support of widening participation to Higher Education for non-traditional learners.

Kirstie said: “I intend to ensure I continue to embody the professional standards for the benefit of the school, its students and the wider University, and continue to build evidence of further impact on teaching practice. I intend also to support other colleagues who want to submit applications through the Nottingham Recognition Scheme.”

The award is self-nominating, and Kirstie was encouraged to apply for the Senior Fellow by Health E-Learning and Media Team (HELM) colleagues. Kirstie’s application - a reflective account about her career at the University evidenced against the UKPSF criteria - wasjudged by a panel of Senior and Principal Fellows within the University.

Congratulations Kirstie!
