Olivia Butler, a second year midwifery student, has been shortlisted for the British Journal of Midwifery (BJM) Practice Awards 2017 'Student Midwife of the Year' award.

According to the BJM website, the awards are “in recognition of outstanding achievements in midwifery practice”, aiming to “recognise and celebrate hard-working individuals and teams in the midwifery profession”.

Olivia was nominated by Joanne Foster in the School of Health Sciences, who said in her nomination that Olivia’s “dedication and input to her studies and her commitment to the course has been evident from the outset. She is incredibly passionate regarding women’s health and care provision… and is a well-respected peer who demonstrates commitment to her own and her fellow students learning and education”.
