Nottingham Children's Nurse awarded prestigious European Society Nursing Fellowship

Joseph Manning

Joseph Manning, a Research Fellow in the School of Health Sciences and Clinical Nursing Research Fellow/Charge Nurse at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has been awarded a prestigious fellowship from the European Society for Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care (ESPNIC).

This fellowship will allow Joseph to travel to the Netherlands to observe and investigate how aftercare services are provided to infants, children, young people and their families that survive critical illness. The fellowship will also provide a platform to develop a dialogue with European clinicians and researchers in this field and explore opportunities for collaborative research projects.

Joseph said: “I am absolutely delighted and honoured to have been awarded the ESPNIC Nursing Fellowship for 2014. The critical care of children and their families is my clinical and research passion. This fellowship will allow me to build on the research I have conducted as part of a three year Translational Research Fellowship awarded from The University of Nottingham in 2011. It will provide insights into the best ways to translate my research findings into clinical practice with a focus on improving the quality, experience and long term outcomes for this patient group.”
