New Course - BSc Sport Rehabilitation and Exercise Science

From September 2014 we are pleased, and excited, to offer a new undergraduate course, aimed at students who aspire to work in sport rehabilitation and exercise science.

Sport Rehabilitators are practitioners trained in sports and exercise medicine, who work alongside and complement other sports and health professionals. Graduates work independently in a range of sporting environments, designing and implementing exercise and rehabilitation programmes to enhance health, wellbeing and performance at all levels.

The new course is a fantastic opportunity for Sport Rehabilitation students to work alongside students in other health professions. The knowledge and skills required to work with clients of all ages and abilities in the sport, occupational health, and leisure sectors will be developed over the three years. We provide an environment that is both nurturing and supportive and aim to provide the highest quality education and learning opportunities.

Year three students will have the unique opportunity of choosing modules that reflect their interests and aspirations. A community-based module will facilitate the development of health promotion, exercise or sport for a charity, school, or local project.

The Division currently provides first class and extremely popular education for physiotherapists. We are confident that the BSc Sport Rehabilitation and Exercise Science course will both complement and enhance the student experience at all levels.
