Edward is 9 years old, and small for his age. As a result, other children at school bully him and he appears very shy and reserved. The gerbils are his responsibility. A week ago, he sustained a fracture in his left arm after a fall in the playground at school. This is now in a splint and he needs a sling to support it. He has returned to school of his own accord.
Steve is 18 years old and is Sharon's boyfriend. He is insisting they have a baby.
Lizzie is 11 years old and is apparently supporting the smaller children each day. She constantly has nits, and Sharon says there’s no point in treating her as all the children have them anyway.
John is 6 years old and has developed selective mutism. John also has mild asthma, for which he has a blue, Salbutamol, reliever inhaler which he takes when he does P.E. and games at school.
James and Henry are identical twins, 4 years old. James is very quiet and appears withdrawn.
Henry and James are identical twins, 4 years old. The school report that Henry has difficulties concentrating and he does not focus on what he is asked to do in class. Sharon says he can be aggressive to his siblings. He is always watching TV.
Emily is 3 years old and is still wearing nappies at night and for part of the day. Sharon says she is keen for her to go to nursery but also feels Emily isn’t quite ready for this.
Charlotte is 2 years old. She missed an eye appointment with the hospital earlier this week to review her squint. Sharon says this was because she was in the Emergency Department with Edward getting his splint.
