Summary

This resource has provided the opportunity to explore some of the complexity of the baby's first 1001 days of growing up. It has focussed on the development of the embryo and foetus prior to birth, identifying the major events that occur prior to birth. Following birth, the resource has explored the reactions of the newborn together with the changes that occur physically. An overview of the physical development of the baby, up to the age of 2 years, provides an opportunity to visualise the ongoing development of gross and fine motor skills.
