7. Looking to the future
People who are members of an online support group tell us it can make a real difference to their lives, not just in terms of how they are feeling, but also that it helps them learn more about their condition and what they can do to manage from day to day. Being a member can help make things a bit easier for you and give you the confidence to move forward.
It is up to you how long you want to be a member. There is no minimum or maximum period. Some people leave once they feel better, for others it is an ongoing journey and they stay members for several months or even years.
Other members have recovered from their illness or are feeling good about things and choose to stay active in order to help others.
Whatever you decide to do...you are in control. There is a lot of support available.
